Oil handles for a protective coat against heat and water. Unoiled handles may cause the handle to crack and weaken. We recommend boiled linseed oil. Frequency depends on conditions. At the very least oil handles at the beginning of the gardening season.
The bulb shovel was primarily made for the Dutch tulip sector to remove sick or unwanted bulbs from the bed without damaging the healthy bulbs. The wider blade of this shovel makes it better suited to removing bigger bulbs.
This shovel can also be used for digging planting holes for bulbs.
